Does Smart City Construction Improve the Green Utilization Efficiency of Urban Land?

Frontier research primarily focuses on the effect of urban development models land use efficiency, while ignoring new-type green efficiency. Accordingly, this paper employs a super efficiency slacks-based measure (super-SBM) model with undesirable outputs to based panel data from 152 prefecture-level cities for period 2004–2017. We construct difference-in-differences (DID) in test impact smart city construction utilization and its transmission mechanism. The results showed that: (1) significantly improved land, increasing general by 15%. (2) There is significant city-size heterogeneity improving land. policy more obvious mega above than very-large-sized cities. (3) city-feature reveal that, higher level human capital, financial development, information infrastructure, effectiveness are obvious, effects were optimal. (4) promotes through industry regional innovation capabilities.
